Skybound Outpost
★★★★☆ 4.2
Skybound Outpost puts you in charge of a colony hanging in the clouds, and the twist is that everything has weight. Build too much on one side and your platform tilts, throwing off power and water routes. It sounds fiddly, but it becomes a quietly addictive optimization puzzle.
The early game is gentle, walking you through housing, food, and energy. Then it opens up and the balancing act gets real. I lost one colony to a badly placed reactor and immediately started a new one to do it properly, which is the sign of a good sim.
It runs offline, saves reliably, and never rushes you. If you like watching a little world grow under careful management, this is an easy recommendation for slower evenings.
What we liked
- Physics-based building that changes how you plan
- Gentle onboarding into surprising depth
- Works fully offline with reliable saves
